Our camping ground Ankergrund (“anchor ground”) is located in the picturesque heart of the Main loop, surrounded by Franconian vineyards, located in the driest part of Germany. Thanks to this enchanting location, you can enjoy breathtaking sunsets right from your pitch, and they reflect in a gorgeous play of colors on the river Main, the most magnificent river in Northern Bavaria.

Many of our guests love the culinary treats of Franconia (as we call our Northern Bavarian region), which are waiting for you at the numerous wine and vintner festivals. Lots of cultural highlights in the Volkach region offer a relaxing atmosphere – and if you prefer to become more active: there are beautiful and romantic cycle tracks and hiking trails, many watersports facilities, and lots of other things.

For the little ones, there is a wide variety of attractions, such as the Leisure Land in Geiselwind, the climbing forest at the lake, and the Playmobil FunPark, to name just a few. Or simply experience the adventure of a raft ride on the river Main.

And if you just want to be lazy and chill out? Enjoy your sweet idleness at our camping ground’s beach or in our generous relaxing lawn, and listen to the river Main murmuring as it flows by.
